Organizational History
During the 1990s, community leaders worked to establish a coordinating
council focused on the needs of children, youth, and families. As a
result, the Clayton Collaborative Authority was created by
Senate Bill 355
in April 1997 to address issues impacting our local citizens.
With a loaned
executive from Clayton State University, the newly designated
Collaborative Authority applied for Family Connection recognition and
funding. By the spring of 1998, the Clayton County Collaborative
Authority had become part of the expanding
Georgia Family Connection
network.
Since 1998 the Collaborative has
been developing relationships with various agencies and leaders in the community
to address concerns affecting children and families county-wide. With funding
and technical support from the Family Connection Partnership, strategic planning
is creating an integrated, positive vision that should guide the county for
decades to come. |
