About the Collaborative
The Collaborative is a quasi-governmental body established
in 1997 by Georgia Senate Bill 355 to benefit
people living in Clayton County. Working jointly with the
Family Connection
Partnership, we are implementing a vision for community-based
support, decision-making, and accountability. The Collaborative is composed of
concerned citizens from every sector--including government, business, academia, and the nonprofit world.
Vision
We believe that socioeconomic health
and growth are dependent on interaction among citizens who know, respect, and
trust one another. Consequently, the Collaborative provides opportunities for
every person who cares about the county to exchange ideas and resources and to
promote progress through coordinated action.
Mission
The Clayton Collaborative
Authority serves as a catalyst for community development through the
building and strengthening of relationships.
Leadership
Although
part of the membership of the Board of Trustees is set by legal statute,
the majority of the Board are volunteers who understand that the
Collaborative can have significant impact on social and economic
conditions in the county. The full Board meets four times a year to
explore strategies for improving community life. The Executive Committee
of the Board meets once a month. The Chair of the Board, who also heads
the Executive Committee, is elected by majority vote.
