The mission of the Grassroots Leadership Institute is to identify,
train, and nurture emerging leaders to better serve the needs of the Clayton
County
community.
Originally funded by the
Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta,
the Grassroots Leadership
Institute is scheduled each year for twelve weeks between August and November.
Due to the generosity of community supporters, the
Institute is free but interested citizens must apply since limited space is available. Applications
may be submitted any time during the year.

Each of the twelve
weekly sessions is three hours long, and attendance at all sessions in their
entirety is expected. Upon graduation, participants are provided opportunities to continue interacting with alumni
members through educational programs, community service projects,
advanced leadership training, and cultural activities.
