Grassroots Leadership Institute
Curriculum
The
Institute's curriculum is the result of collaboration between
the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and the Fanning
Institute of Leadership at the University of Georgia. Each
module addresses a key issue related to leadership in the public
sector.
Each week current
community leaders make presentations
describing leadership skills and issues facing the Clayton
County
community. Trained facilitators lead participants in simulated activities
to
practice and develop their leadership
skills. Topics include:
Effective Communication
Understanding Leadership
Understanding Values and Valuing Community Diversity
Group Dynamics and Managing Conflict
Making Group Decisions
Conducting Successful Meetings
Local Government
Community Leaders Role in Local Economic Development
Building Communities through Partnerships and Collaborations
Leading Community Change
