Community Resources
Grants
The Clayton County Collaborative is not a
granting agency. On occasion, the Collaborative provides assistance to other
agencies such as the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, insuring that grant
applications to the County are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
However, the Collaborative can provide information about funding resources which
individuals and community organizations can access on their own.
For information about private and corporate
foundation grants, the Foundation Center located in the Hurt Building at Five
Points in downtown Atlanta is an unbeatable resource. For an overview, go to
http://foundationcenter.org/atlanta/. The Foundation
Center library includes a huge database of foundations which can be searched by
topic, geographic region, and target population. In addition, the
librarians provide regular (often free) training opportunities for people new to
grant-seeking.
A good way to explore federal funding opportunities
is to go to http://www.grants.gov/
Listing grants available from 26 different federal agencies, this website
provides access to over 1,000 federal grant programs.
